Jay Wilburn: What’s your name and why are you here?
Rebecca Besser: I’m Rebecca Besser and I’m here to talk about zombies.
Jay: What have you written for us?
Rebecca: Re-Civilize: Chad
Jay: Yes! I’m excited about this new series. Tell us about it.
Rebecca: A zpoc exception story: Some people are immune to the zombie virus, and they end up being the protectors of the survivors of the human race whether they’re willing or not.
Jay: Tell us about Chad … the character.
Rebecca: Chad is the focus of Re-Civilize: Book 1. He’s a teen that isn’t happy with anything in his life – he wants it all to change. When the zpoc hits and he’s suddenly in the crumbling world he wished for he finds himself alone and bitten. To his surprise, he survives and is forced to recreate the society he hated. He’s not sure he wants to help re-civilize what’s left of humanity.
Jay: That’s an interesting concept. Quite unnerving for the survivors, I bet. What made you decide to twist up your characters in that way?
Rebecca: I wondered what it would be like for some people to be immune to the zombie virus and then have to protect the human race. I thought it would give the human race a better chance at survival, and they could rebuild (re-civilize) the world.
Jay: I love this book and can’t wait to see where it goes from here. Without spilling too much, what can we expect going forward? More central characters?
Rebecca: Yes, this book is the first in the Zpoc Exception Series. Each book will be from the perspective of a different character and tell each of their stories as they survive the zpoc and move toward re-civilizing humanity.
Jay: Tell me all the places where people can find you. Rapid fire. Go!
Rebecca: Ugh … website, blog, Facebook, Twitter, GoodReads, Instagram …
Jay: Well done. Now, if they just want to skip all that a buy the book?
Rebecca: Here.
Jay: Perfect.
