Before The Bazaar of Bad Dreams #StephenKingRevisited

The plan is to reread all of Stephen King’s works in the order that they were published. Richard Chizmar of Cemetery Dance had the vision. I’m doing it because I am a writer and I want to improve my fiction. And I love Stephen King’s stories. I think there is something to be learned through this process.

You can also go back to the beginning and read Before Carrie or any of my other posts up through this one and beyond by checking out this link to the Master List of all my #StephenKingRevisited posts.

If I wasn’t doing this Stephen King Revisited project, I would have read The Bazaar of Bad Dreams long before now. I am one of those readers who gravitates toward his short story collections. Multiple Stephen King short stories have stuck with me for years after I read them.

Through the years, his collections have taken on names related to the progression of the sun through day and night. They’ve also taken on titles related to dreams and nightmares. This is another dream title.

In this one, I’m looking forward to all the stories. “Blockade Billy” is a novella I couldn’t find anywhere, but I get to read it here. “Cookie Jar” was a story he released online, and I enjoyed it for all its beautiful strangeness. Most of the rest of the stories are mysteries to me I look forward to discovering one after another.

I hope there are many more collections after this one in the years ahead.

My next post in this series will be After The Bazaar of Bad Dreams which will be linked on the Master List of all my Stephen King Revisited posts.
